A Comparison of empirical indoor relative humidity models with measured data

This study examined the reliability of models developed to simulate interior moisture conditions in houses. Four models were tested against measured relative humidity data for 25 houses. The models were: the European Indoor Class Model, the BRE model, and the ASHRAE 160P simple and intermediate models. The relative humidity in each house was measured in two different locations, producing 50 data sets. The paper compares the predicted interior relative humidity to measured data and comments on the reliability and suitability of each model as a design tool.
